Show business is a vernacular term for the business of entertainment! Without the show there is no business and without the business the show cannot survive! As they say "There's no business like show business", unless you are one of the many unemployed and starving entertainers in Vancouver, BC.I came to the realization many years ago that if I was going to make it as a Full Time magician I better get my head screwed on when it came to business. Many magicians in Vancouver, BC and all over the world for that matter claim to be full time Magicians but in reality very few are. You see to make a living as an entertainer every year is not the easiest thing to do, especially in a busy, cut throat market like Vancouver.
The business of show business has changed over the years. To have a successful advertising campaign 10 years ago you simply had to advertise in the local Yellow Pages, now you have to be an internet guru. To be on the 1st page of Google seems to be the bench mark for being successful in any city in the world. It's like a rat race to get to the top and many business savvy performers understand this and are using any and all means to make this a reality.
I have noticed over the last year that many performers in my market of Vancouver, British Columbia are buying up domain names like candy in order to secure all possible variables when it comes to keyword searches on the internet.
Now to secure domain names that link to your keywords and to do it on a scale that will make a difference takes time & more importantly money, it can take a lot of money. For any individual to do this on his or her own is a big task.
This brings me to my point of this blog. I have teamed up with a very good friend and magic colleague to secure domain names that are important to our business. We sat down and came up with the following domains that we felt best suited our business. In reading through these domains you may notice that some important .com's or .ca's seem to be omitted. The reason is quite simply that those domain names were already taken.
